Help- Wine Suggestions: Which wine should I buy?

I went to a restaurant a while back and purchased a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon- Stratton Lummis (Napa Valley, CA 2008), which both my date and I really enjoyed. I’m taking my date on a picnic and want to surprise her with a bottle of wine, but I’m not sure what to buy. I would like a wine similar to the Cabernet Sauvignon- Stratton Lummis wine I drank, yet understandably not the same exact bottle. Take a look at this website: www.wilkotucson.com –> click on Menu –> select Wine and Beer. Recommend a red wine please but give me a reason as to why you think this wine would be ideal.

Looking for a red wine with a slightly sweeter/fruitier taste and a little less acidic/bitter?

As you can probably tell by the question I know nothing about wine. I’ve had it a few times here and there and I generally like but I would prefer it to be slightly sweeter and a little less acidic/bitter (not sure if both those tastes are the same thing).

To let you gauge what I find too bitter, I recently picked up 4 pack bottles of Woodbridge – Cabernet Sauvignon and I find it a little too bitter for me. It feels kinda good going in, when I can taste the sweetness with the tip of my tongue, but when it hits the middle of the tongue, I find it too acidic.

Also normally I don’t drink it with food, just when I’m lounging around watching tv or reading.

Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance.

Also, I went to a wine tasting once and I enjoyed the blush they had, I think – been a while.

Which wine should I choose?

I’m trying to figure out which wine to use for my wedding this summer. I know nothing about wine, so I really need some help on which one might be best!

We will be eating ukrainian food (perogies, cabbage rolls) as well as turkey, potatoes, leaf salads, and assorted summer vegetables. Also the dinner will be held outdoors in approximately 20-24 Celsius (68-75 F) weather, if that matters…

Here is a list of wines that are available to us.

Philip’s Grilled Porterhouse with Red Wine Reduction

Philip Woodrow of Hahn Family Wines prepares a porterhouse with a red wine reduction. Great with the September 2009 club shipment!

Just wondering which brand and types of red wine that taste better?

I heard about Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, etc along with the brand Jacobs Creek, McGuinnan, Lindeman, de Bertoli, etc.

Which one is the good one?
What is the difference between them?

Thanks
^^
