I never know what type of wine to order. White wine always tastes too sweet to me and the reds I’ve been trying are very bitter. Are there any tasty wines out there??
I heard drinking a little red wine on occasion is good for you. But I like the taste of white wine better.
Is there any red wine that taste like white wine?
What is it about Red Wine that is beneficial to the heart ?
Is White Wine less healthy?
There is a granual, earthy taste to red wine, that upon initial impression would lead me to believe it is healthier in comparison to white wines sweeter and sometimes oily feel.
I like dark red wine but i’ve never tried white wine before.
What’s a decent cheap brand i can find at Wal-Mart?
My mom’s not gonna take me to a liquor store -_-

I am having a red wine tasting party tonight, and I’d like to sneak in a bottle of white wine and see if people can find it among the red. I’d like to use one that’s not so easy to find though. Something that might taste like red wine. I love reds, but don’t drink a lot of white, so I don’t know which to chose. Any ideas?
I am a pretty good home cook, but I feel that I have reached my limit on what I can do at this point. What I need now is to learn about sauce making. Does anyone know of a book that teaches the methods of classic french sauces? I’m not looking for a cookbook, but a textbook on how to make great sauces with some recipes to go with it. I have looked at some reviews of James Petersen’s book, but I am nervous about his approach of making sauces more like a broth.
Also, I am ignorant when it comes to wine and wine choices. I hate when cookbooks call for "red wine". I don’t drink wine, but I do cook with it. I need to know how to select a wine or be told which wine to use. I make a mean chicken marsala only because I know to use a marsala wine. "Red win" or "white wine" doesn’t help me.
Also, I don’t know french. So a bunch of french words don’t help me. I need a book that will name the sauce, but then explain what it is.
Any suggestions?
Essentially I need a book that assumes the reader knows their way around a kitchen and gives an in-depth look at sauce making while still keeping it readable for the non-classically trained, non-frensh speaking home cooking enthusiast.
Any help you can offer would be great (perferably by a professional chef who knows their way around culinary resources).
