I oncetried a red wine that had a really creamy soft taste – what brand or grape variety could this be?

Thank you all, for taking the time to reply to my question. I will enjoy trying out the wines you have suggested to see if I can find something similar.
Thank you

UncorkDeals.com – Quinta Do Vale Meao Duoro

Watch as Brian Freedman, the wine specialist for Wine Chateau, uncorks his experiences on this wine on Uncork Deals. 95 Points Wine Spectator: This powerful red delivers concentrated flavors of dark plum, Asian spice, roasted meats and dark chocolate that are backed up by fine acidity. Medium-grained tannins are silky, and the finish is rich, with concentrated notes of dark chocolate, mocha and cream. Vale Meão is a historic Quinta that’s now established as one of the front runners in the Douro table wine revolution. It started life as one of the shrewd acquisitions of the celebrated Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira. In 1877 she purchased 270 hectares of land near Vila Nova de Foz Côa in the Douro superior, and established a quinta and vineyards. The Quinta has remained in the family and is owned today by Francisco Olazabal. He was previously president of the AA Ferreira enterprise and this is where the grapes went to, forming the bulk of the legendary Barca Velha, which for decades was the only notable table wine to come from the Douro.

What are the best Rioja Crianza's (red wine)?

I like to drink this "heavy" Spanish wine, but seriously wondering what years are regarded as good quality and what is the time to mature for these wines. On top of all I would like to know what Houses to buy from, to ensure my wine was well riped.

Can you recommend a red wine that is not too strong/sour tasting for a non-wine drinker?

My Mom’s doctor said she needs to drink a glass of red wine a day for her health. She bought a red wine (sorry, I can’t recall the name) but said it was much too strong tasting and sour for her. Can you recommend something that would be mild and sweeter tasting for someone who has not developed a taste for wine. Some have said pinot noir (sorry if that is incorrectly spelled, I obviously know nothing about wines) or merlot would be good. Do you agree? Any other recommendations? Thanks!

Good red wine for around $50?

I want to get my parents a bottle of red wine for christmas. I want to get them something decent because when they buy wine for themselves, they don’t go cheap necessarily and they are critical of wines. So, I guess I’m willing to spend around , but I need some suggestions.

It will have to be common enough to be in my local liquor store. It’s a big liquor store–like a small grocery store, except it’s all alcoholic beverages.

Otherwise, I was just going to ask the attendant for suggestions.

Thanks.
I’m looking for a specific brand/bottle of wine, folks. Give me a name. I already said that I’m also probably going to talk to the store attendant. So if that’s you’re only suggestion, or you don’t really have a suggestion, please don’t bother answering. I will give you negative feedback.

Italian red wine

Here’s a guide to the more famous Italian wines and their regions but I’d still recommend browsing through all the Italian pages as there are fantastic wines available from all the regions. Check out www.goodwineonline.co.uk

What red wine to use when cooking a pot roast?

I’m confused & I don’t really know a lot about wine. I found a recipe for potroast that I may use tomorrow and it calls for I think 1/2 cup of red wine. I know some wines are sweet and some aren’t (is that called dry???). I don’t know which one to buy. I would appreciate if someone could give me a specific type or label name to use. Thank you so much!!!

Resveratrol – which red wines have the most?

I want to buy a red wine that has a high amount of resveratrol, which I understand is good for the health. What wines should I look for in low to high price ranges?
